Hello, I am Soren!

Hello,

I am Soren!

I am 10 weeks old.

I was extracted via caesarean-section on the 25th Feb 2010, the day after my Mums birthday.

My full name is Soren Te Rereka Haenga Mahuika. I am named after a kickboxer my Dad likes called Soren, I am also named after my Uncle Te Rereka and my dads Uncle and my Great-Grandfather. I share my middle name with a lot of awesome people.

My hobbies include; gurgling, smiling, squirting Dad with wee (I have excellent aim and find this VERY amusing) and staying up as long as I can.

A smile just for you.

Love Soren

My Not-So-Little Brother

My not-so-little brother Axel has been selected to row for the New Zealand Under 21s squad. He is 19 years old and is one of two heavyweight single scullers. Huge achievement. He really has come so far since he started rowing 5 years ago.

He holds world records in the 'Erg'? Was given a place at the Central Regional Performance Center and now this, so proud of him, but I'm not suprised...

Ever since Axel was very young (we're talking preschool) he has had this insane passion to be the very best. So, yesterday, whilst hunting for a quote to include on the sponsorship certificate his sponsors get I found this:

"An athlete is a normal person with the gift of undying passion to be the best and achieve greatness." --- Amanda Ring

This describes my brother completely, but it also got me thinking... why can't we strive to achieve greatness in all areas of our lives. There is no point in half committing to anything. So my current goal is to give my all to the endeavours I undertake.

If you would like to assist my brother in his Olympian dreams, please visit this site and vote for him to recieve sponsorship. It takes less than 2 minutes and you don't need to verify your email, so you can make it up if you want.

I hope this doesn't mean I'm not going to undertake any new endeavours?

New Blog - My Digi Scraps

Neralee & Boredom have driven me here.

Since Sorens birth I have been on lock down all day it seems, he and I spend hours together in the bedroom, laughing at eachothers faces, when he's bored of that, he tends to sleep.

I've been puting together a lot of digital scrap pages in Sorens sleepy time and decided for Mothers Day to print off 20 of these pages into a book for my mum, I did it through SnapFish.co.nz, they had a special where all you had to pay was $4.95NZD for postage and the 20x20cm 20 page photobook was free.

I make my pages (and all my other digital images) using GIMP, this is a freeware program that you can download (it's like a free version of PSP), at first it may seem overwhelming, but if you just play with it, it gets easier really quickly, plus there are thousands of tutorials online for how to use it.

I'm considering making this my digital images/tutorials/family blog. So if you don't have any interest in one of those, prepare to become bored quickly.

That's all for this post, I will make another when I wake up.
